John Dunnett – General Director

John DunnettAs general director of a mission agency focusing on Christian leadership development, it's pleasing to say that John Dunnett has indeed 'done it'.

That is, he's done the reality of leadership development – living his passion for nurturing others as part of his 18 years in parish ministry (including 13 years as incumbent as St Luke's, Cranham in Chelmsford diocese), before joining CPAS in 2006.

His love of coffee is what gets him started in the mornings, preferably with a doughnut on the side. He's even managed to work his favourite foodstuff into the CPAS strategy, with a doughnut used to illustrate the seven bite-sized leadership competencies which effective leaders pursue. But this is no ring doughnut. The centre is packed full with a desire to share the good news of Jesus, providing the doughnut with both its essence and substance.

Away from CPAS, John is a regular contributor at New Wine and Diocesan Evangelical Fellowships, and has been a member of General Synod since 2005. On a more frequent basis, he makes an equally valued contribution to Upminster Hockey Club's performances and as a husband to Liz and father to three children.

Martyn Sargeant – Director of Operations

Martyn SargeantHe's the oil that keeps the engine running smoothly. He's the motor of the good ship CPAS, revolving furiously under the surface as we sail serenely onwards. He's the mature cheddar that makes the ploughman's lunch what it is. Sorry about distracting you with yummy food thoughts. But Martyn does love his grub. As long as it's good quality.

I suppose that's what a background in local government does for you (apart from the food bit, although I'm sure councillors like a bit of fine dining every so often). So, why did reliable, streamlined, effective Martyn leave all that behind? God came knocking. Then opened the door to CPAS for him.

Gladly, Martyn entered and went straight to the kitchen. There, he started doing the washing up, neatly sorting the cutlery into separate containers. Because that's the way he likes it. Operationally effective.
