making disciples, developing leaders, growing churches

CPAS enables churches to help every person hear and discover the good news of Jesus

Fostering vocations

Are you a vicar trying to encourage people to respond to God's call? Or are you a member of diocesan staff – trying to encourage more men and women under the age of 30 to offer themselves for ordination, including pioneer ministry?

If the answer is 'yes', then CPAS wants to work in partnership with you.

CPAS works with the Church of England Ministry Division, diocesan officers and local church leaders so that together we may support, encourage, resource and develop vocational discernment within the Church.

  • Online vocations tool

Your S.H.A.P.E. for Ministry is a free online tool to help men, women and young people explore whether or not God is calling them to ordained ministry. It includes stories of how some young clergy became clearer about their own call to ordination. The tool is intended to be a first step on a journey of exploration and help users think about which areas they most need to explore further and suggests some helpful next steps. You can find this resource here.

  • Other resources to use with enquirers

In the new resources section at the bottom of this page you will find a growing library of tools to use with enquirers in one to one conversations or vocations groups. This will be expanded to include Bible studies, sermon outlines and other useful tools, so do check back regularly to see what you could use.
