What about ordination?
Having reflected on your heart, can you see how ordained ministry would fulfil and satisfy the desires of your heart? Ordained ministry may strike chords with you if, among other things, you have a heart for
- mission and evangelism: seeing other people's lives transformed by knowing the love of God, revealed in Jesus Christ.
- people: having a genuine concern for others and a desire to help them; being angry about injustice and unfairness; wanting to lead and enable others.
- following Jesus: wanting to grow spiritually in the depth of your personal relationship with Jesus Christ; seeking to give your life to the service of Christ, according to his will and purpose, not your own.
quotes
"I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God." (Ezekiel 11:19-20, The Bible, TNIV)
"You arouse us so that praising you may bring us joy, because you have made us and drawn us to yourself, and our heart is unquiet until it rests in you." (St. Augustine of Hippo, Confessions)
