Each year, more and more churches become part of multi-parish benefices. As an Anglican mission agency, we are committed to investing in leaders of multiple churches, as we believe this could have a significant and long-lasting impact on growth in Anglican churches.
CPAS' is working to develop leaders of these parishes in a number of different ways, recognising that the skills needed to lead multiple healthy, growing churches can differ greatly from those needed in a single-church setting.
Leading or surviving in a multi-parish situation, a short article by CPAS leadership specialist Pam Macnaughton, gives helpful advice and reflections on leading in a multi-parish context. This article was originally featured in Lead On, our free monthly leadership email. Download the article and sign up for Lead On.
If you are leading multiple churches in a rural setting, you may also find Graham Dow's Grove book, Leading Rural Churches for Growth, helpful. This is part of the Grove Leadership Series, which is a partnership between CPAS and Grove Books. Buy online.
Working with Lead Academy and the Arthur Rank Centre, we are facilitating Thrive communities in a number of Church of England dioceses for groups of lay and ordained leaders working in multi-parish benefices. They come together five times over two years and are an opportunity for groups of leaders to step back, reflect, learn, share ideas and then take action. Download further details.
