There are a range of new resources that have been posted recently.

The new video of the month is a good clip to use for a range of subjects, from people working well together, to standing out of the crowd and evangelism. Take a look.

Our theme this month is residentials. Have a listen to our latest podcast where Ruth and Andy explore the value and benefit of taking young people away and Louise Davis, Venture development officer, explains how easy it is to get involved with a venture.

There's a book review of 'Great Tween Getaways' by Marcy Balcomb and is a useful resource for anyone taking 9-13s away.

We've also uploaded a template parental consent form which you can download and use whenever you take young people away from your usual meeting place.

07 April: New mentoring training articles

There are two new articles on mentoring in the training articles section. One explains what mentoring is and the benefits it can have on your youth ministry while the second article gives you practical ideas for your first mentor meeting.

05 March: New podcast available on mentoring

This month's theme is on mentoring: what it is, how to set it up and the benefits of mentoring. There's a podcast now available with mentoring as it's focus. Download it from here.

There's now a review of Houston Heflin's book, 'Youth Pastor - The Theology and Practice of Youth Ministry'. Well work a look regardless of whether you are employed or not as a youth pastor. Read the review here.

There's now a review of a book about team dynamics called "the Five Dysfunctions of a Team" by Patrick Lencioni. Find out more.

03 February: Nurturing your team

This month's theme is nurturing your team. There's a new podcast and a training article on this theme. There's also a new video of the month which would be great to use as part of a meeting on the good news of the gospel.

25 January: Pinewood: Leadership Challenge

A new Leadership Challenge Venture is being launched by two CPAS leadership
development advisers with a passion for developing young leaders. Ruth Hassall and Andy Castle will run the holiday for young people aged 14-18 at Pinewood School in Wiltshire.

The Leadership Challenge Venture will run from 24-31 July. Venture leader Andy Castle said:'This is all about having fun together while exploring how to grow in the God-given gift of leadership. The great thing about having a week together is that there's room for focused discussion and teaching, as well as more exploratory activities and time for games or sports.'

23 December: Congratulations to our iPod winner!

It was great meeting lots of youth leaders at the Youthwork Conference in Eastbourne. If you signed up to receive our new e-bulletin then you should be receiving that today. Likewise, Venture brochures have now been be sent out. Do let us know if you would like more copies to give out.

We've made the draw to win the iPod and the winner is Rebecca Maclusky from Woodbridge, Suffolk. Many congratulations - your iPod will be with you early in the new year!

19 November: New leadership Venture for teenagers

Next year, Ruth and Andy will be running a special Venture holiday for teenagers aged 14-18 who want to grow in their leadership gifting. We'll publish further details about this on the Ventures website as soon as we have them.
