Woolhampton 2 is one of this summer's Ventures starting today. Over 60 young people and 25 leaders are heading to Elstree school near Reading for a packed week of sports, arts, quizzes, games and time to get to know God.
The leaders of this Venture said: 'Please pray for a great, fun-filled holiday so that the young people will want to come back and bring their friends in the future.
'Praise God that we have a full Venture this year with seven cooks, 25 leaders, 62 young people and five parents coming with their children. Pray that strong one-to-one friendships may be formed so that the leaders can share their lives and the gospel with the young people.'
There are nearly 100 Ventures taking place this year, with around 4,000 young people taking part. Please pray for all of these holidays, and ask that everyone involved would have a fantastic time, make good friendships and discover more about God.
There are several Falcon Camps beginning this weekend as well. Dovedale, Lee Abbey and Halls Green started yesterday and Perrot Hill 2, Saffron Walden 2 and Scarborough are starting today.
These Falcon Camps, along with the many others taking place this summer are a fantastic opportunity for children from disadvantaged backgrounds to have a much-needed break and experience the love and care of a Christian community.
Last year, one leader told us: 'A 14-year-old called Shane asked a leader to pray with him for his mum's health and family break-up every evening. He said that he didn't see or experience God. On the last night the talk was about the Holy Spirit and when the leaders prayed for him he broke down in tears and God moved his heart. Afterwards he said that he believed God is real.'
Please pray that many more young people will experience the love of Jesus on a Falcon Camp this year, and pray that God would work in their lives at home to change any difficult circumstances they are living with.
