Bishop of Aston speaks at first Lifecall event
lifecall – a new one-day vocations event for people aged 16 to 25 – launches this month. The Rt Rev Andrew Watson, Bishop of Aston, will be guest speaker at the event on 16 October in Warwick.
The event will give attendees the chance to begin to answer questions about what God’s plan is for them, whether they are called to some kind of formal leadership and discover the realities of ordained or pioneer ministry.
A second lifecall event will take place at St Luke’s, Watford on 26 February 2011.
The first CPAS Making Mission Possible events have taken place, with Leading Edge, Growing Leaders training days and a vocations day already helping more leaders to 'Go and make disciples...'
More events are taking place this month, including the first of the new Lifecall young vocations days. Click here to find out more about events in your area and to book a place.
A priest without walls
‘As a 52 year-old gobby female, I was sure I’d heard God wrongly – or else he was having a laugh! I thought there was no way he could want me to be a vicar,’ said Lesley Craddock, who attended a CPAS You and Ministry weekend to discover more about what God was asking her to do.
You and Ministry weekends provide an opportunity for people to explore a call to full-time ministry, and it was on a weekend in November 2008 that Lesley began her journey to ordination.
More people being led to Jesus – the most essential element the CPAS Arrow Leadership Programme – has become a reality in the experience of Cara Witheyman, the children and families minister at St Giles' Church in Northampton.
Having completed all four residentials which form the backbone of Arrow, Cara took some time out to reflect on her highlights from the 18-month programme.
