Evangelism
The common stereotypes associated with evangelism are of the street-corner preacher telling us that ‘the end is nigh', the expensively dressed American tele-evangelist appealing for funds or the earnest visitor at the door. Let’s face it - evangelism has a bad image.
But does evangelism deserve its unfortunate image? Each Christian reading this page is a living example of effective evangelism. In recent years the church has made huge steps forward in its understanding and practice of evangelism - from research into Church Growth through to the development of a wide variety of resources to help local churches. Evangelism is back on the agenda of many churches but they often struggle to know how to get going.
CPAS is passionately committed to seeing Mission and Evangelism as a natural part of healthy church life. We want to help to encourage churches to develop a vision for mission, outreach and evangelism that is long term, strategic, challenging and achievable - to think beyond the occasional Christian Basics course or one off Guest service to an integrated approach to mission and evangelism. From consultancy and partnership, to help organising missions and evangelistic events, from insights into Church growth to excellent resources CPAS is here to help shake off that bad image.
