making disciples, developing leaders, growing churches

CPAS enables churches to help every person hear and discover the good news of Jesus

You and Ministry days

Do you wonder what God's plan is for your life? Do you sense God's calling to full-time ministry? The CPAS You and Ministry day can help you to engage with some of the issues through a helpful mix of specialist knowledge, good listening skills, practical advice and encouragement.

Who?

The day is designed for people wanting more information about what is involved in parish ministry in Wales, and for those seriously considering God's call or already going through selection for ordained ministry. While the main emphasis will be on ordained ministry, any who feel that God is calling them to some kind of authorised ministry are welcome. Spouses are also welcome to attend.

What?

CPAS staff together with the Evangelical Fellowship in the Church in Wales (EFCW) and St Michael's church, Aberystwyth are leading the conference, speaking from personal experience of ministry. They are joined by local ministers who offer practical insights and wisdom. Sessions include:

-Understanding vocation.
-Ministry in the New Testament and the Church of England today.
-Selection and training for ordained and other authorised ministries.
-How does God guide?
-Questions to local ministers.
-Finance and lifestyle in Christian ministry.

Within each session, there will be plenty of time for questions and discussion. Nothing is assumed and each conference is tailored to the needs and questions of the participants. If you have any particular needs, please do not hesitate to call 0300 123 0780 and talk them over with CPAS staff.

When and where?

The date for 2012 has not yet been set, please check again in early February.

Why CPAS?

CPAS is an Anglican evangelical mission agency and many of our staff are ordained Anglican ministers who come from, and often return to, parish ministry. However, we are not part of the official structure of central organisations or diocesan staff. This independence is a great gift to those on our conferences, enabling us to give informed but impartial and confidential help and advice.

CPAS also offers more advice on vocations, including the Your S.H.A.P.E. for Ministry online exercise.
