A fast-developing area of CPAS' work is the growing number of opportunities for working in partnership with dioceses. We are currently contributing towards IME or CME programmes in 12 dioceses, and would love to explore working with others also.
What sort of training does CPAS offer?
The simple answer is anything which will help leaders in your diocese to more effectively enable their churches to share the good news of Jesus. We tailor our training to meet the particular development needs of clergy and lay leaders in your diocese. There are three larger pieces of development training we offer dioceses, as well as adhoc training for IME/CME programmes and other diocesan training initiatives.
Diocesan leadership programmes
A tailor-made leadership course for clergy aimed at transformation of clergy as leaders in mission over at least ten months. The programme addresses not only leadership skills but underlying issues of character, vocation and the spiritual life. The training is contextually focused for each individual using a personal development plan and the help of a mentor.
Clergy mentor schemes
Everything you need to set up a clergy mentoring scheme in your diocese. This includes identifying and clarifying the role of mentoring (as opposed to coaching or other helping roles), guidance on selecting and deploying mentors appropriately, and training for the mentors themselves.
Multi-parish benefice learning communities
Multi-parish benefices are on the increase, and working in this context presents unique challenges and opportunities for leaders. In partnership with LEAD Academy and The Arthur Rank Centre we have designed a learning community process over 24 months, specifically for clergy and lay leaders ministering in multi-parish benefices.
IME/CME training topics
We also offer training on a range of topics for IME/CME mornings, afternoons or days, seminars or workshops at diocesan conferences or sessions within leadership programmes. Topics include missional leadership, discerning direction, vision to action, changing culture, developing leaders, sustaining yourself in leadership and numerous other key topics for leaders.
