Insights gained on You and Ministry

September saw our penultimate You and Ministry weekend of 2012, for those exploring a call to ordained or authorised ministry. We asked the participants what insights they gained. Read more and find out what they said.

The next You and Ministry weekend will take place 23-25 November in Warwickshire, and we also have a lifecall young vocations day (for those aged 16-25) planned for 23 February 2013, in partnership with Peterborough diocese. Find out more.

Praising God for a summer of fun

Look out for the latest Ventures Update, landing on doormats across the nation this week!

We praise God for all that happened on Ventures this summer, and hear all about discipleship in action at Lighthouse, quality time together as a youth group on Danehill 1 and bursary fund blessings at Barnstaple 1. We also celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Haslemere Ventures, and hear some holiday highlights from the children and young people themselves.

Ventures Update is also available to read online, or you can subscribe to the print or email editions free of charge.

Staying in touch

The latest Catalyst is also out now. Catalyst is a free magazine published twice a year with stories about the impact of our work and articles about leadership in local churches. This edition features:

- Green shoots of growth at a rural CPAS patronage church
- Stories of God at work in children's lives on Falcon Afloat!
- A new incumbent's story of starting well
- An introduction to new director of ministry Graham Archer

Read Catalyst online. If you would like to start receiving Catalyst you can sign up to receive it by post, or receive an email alert when future editions are available to read online. We also publish a free Prayer Diary, and various other materials for use by individuals and churches. See

Growing Leaders free online training

A series of videos to help equip you in the planning and running of our Growing Leaders courses in your local church are now live on our website. Hear from those involved in creating and running both the Growing Leaders and Growing Leaders - Youth Edition resources.

These short videos (3-4 minutes each) include material for people exploring the concept of leadership development as well as introductions to setting up a course, inviting people, mentoring and how to ensure a lasting impact at the end of a course.

Watch the videos.

Clergy moving on

As part of our patronage work appointing incumbents in parishes across the country, CPAS also administers the EPCC (Evangelical Patrons Consultative Council) clergy register.

If you’re considering a move and would like to be added to this register, which is shared with other evangelical patrons as well as a many bishops and archdeacons, please visit or email the patronage team.

We’re also holding a new 'Moving On' event in Coventry on 22 November. John Fisher, CPAS patronage secretary, will offer some insights into the tricky subject of moving jobs, following our popular Leading Edge forum format. If you’re ordained and looking for a new church role then book your place today.
