Summer may seem a long way off with the weather that has blighted the country in recent weeks, but the prospect of the 2014 Ventures season will hopefully help turn your mind to drier, summer and warmer times ahead.
Ventures are fun, safe and life-changing holidays for 8-18s, where children and young people explore the Bible, learn more about Jesus and do loads of great activities together.
If you know any parents, youth workers or teenagers who might be interested, they can search more than 80 holidays and request more information from the Ventures team at www.ventures.org.uk.
New events calendar filling up fast!
There's a new online search facility for our leadership training events, including dates in 2014 from Ireland to Essex and Yorkshire to Hampshire.
You can search events by location or postcode, date, theme and keyword, or choose to browse all events to see what's on offer. Whether you're interested in exploring your vocation, growing leaders and mentors in your church or developing yourself as a leader, there's a training event for you.
We're adding new dates all the time, so for the latest list of venues and topics please visit www.cpas.org.uk/events.
CPAS included in new PrayerMate app
CPAS is one of several mission agencies included in a free new app to help you pray. PrayerMate brings together personal prayer points and regular updates and prayer letters from mission agencies, charities and churches along with prayers from the Bible and devotional reflections.
A regular 'Time to pray?' reminder can be set, and you can choose how many prayer points appear each day and add new items every time you say 'I'll pray for you'. Get PrayerMate.
If you prefer a more traditional prompt to pray, sign up for our free quarterly Prayer Diary at www.cpas.org.uk/pray. We also post daily prayer points on Twitter (@CPASnews).
Promoting CPAS in your church
As a charity we rely on many of our supporters who are fantastic advocates for our work in local churches across the length and breadth of the UK and Republic of Ireland.
If your church doesn't already support us with prayers or donations, perhaps you could be the spark that generates a new partnership in mission as we seek to increase our work enabling churches to help every person hear and discover the good news of Jesus.
If you’re able to help in this way then please have a look at www.cpas.org.uk/promote for the various promotional materials which we can provide for display in your church, including posters, presentations and leaflets, as well as the option to receive extra copies of Catalyst and Prayer Diary.
A word from Graham
With John Dunnett on sabbatical until the end of March, director of ministry Graham Archer gives an update on life at CPAS and offers a few ways in which you can pray for our work during the next few weeks.
