Jesmond Parish Church is an evangelical Anglican church in the centre of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, committed to 'Godly Living, Church Growth and Changing Britain.' We have Sunday attendance (pre-covid) of around 600 adults (including students) from a wide range of ages and cultures, with many children and young people.
We are looking for an assistant minister to lead and develop pastoral care and discipleship throughout the life of the church. The successful candidate should have a strong ability to relate to and pastor people from a variety of different cultural backgrounds and age groups and be an experienced Bible teacher committed to faithful expository preaching that is engaging and connects with people’s day-to-day lives. Ideally, they will have leadership experience in a large staff team and church family.
Newcastle-upon-Tyne is a vibrant city, with stunning countryside and beautiful beaches within easy reach. Jesmond is a popular residential area half a mile from the city and very close to our two world-class universities. There are many good local schools, primary and secondary, state and independent. We have good transport links (three hours by train to London) and a nearby airport.
The stipend is equivalent to that of the Church of England clergy scales and includes a housing allowance.
