Interim Oversight Minister
Two-year interim post | Diocese of Bristol
Malmesbury Abbey is a place where ancient Benedictine heritage meets a lively, outward‑facing ministry. Set in a thriving Cotswold market town and welcoming over 60,000 visitors a year, the Abbey sits at the heart of a benefice that includes the rural churches of Brokenborough, Corston and Rodbourne.
With the forthcoming retirement of the Revd Oliver Ross, we are seeking a priest who can offer steady, collaborative leadership through a pivotal transition. This is a unique opportunity to guide a significant church and its neighbouring parishes as they discern vision, deepen discipleship and prepare for their next incumbent.
We’re looking for a priest who:
- Leads with warmth and clarity
- Nurtures teams and releases gifts in others
- Preaches and leads worship across a range of styles
- Holds governance, safeguarding and mission together with grace
We offer:
- A remarkable Abbey with national profile
- Strong lay leadership and supportive clergy colleagues
- A benefice ready for renewed confidence and outward‑looking mission
- Full diocesan support, coaching and wellbeing provision
If you sense a call to guide a hopeful, committed community through a season of change, we would love to hear from you.
