Vicar
Diocese of Bath & Wells
This is an opportunity to serve in a benefice with a wide reach across town, diocese and community life, serving two town centre churches in the heart of the community.
We are seeking a Vicar who has a strong faith, who cares deeply for others and has a desire to serve, lead and encourage the gifts of God’s people as we look to strengthen and develop our benefice. Our benefice vision is underpinned by three key elements; to be prayerful, pastoral and mission focused.
We need someone with new ideas and fresh energy who can help us develop our prayer life, support our people and strengthen our faith. We want to improve the pastoral care we provide and for someone to lead us in building on our missional outreach to our community. We want to welcome and support more children, young people and families, as well as provide care and support for our elderly population. We are also keen to explore ways of being more welcoming and inclusive to everyone.
It is vital we attract someone who is prepared to lead and manage resources in a challenging environment.
We offer:
● A supportive and collaborative ministry team alongside committed and active groups of volunteers.
● Faithful and regular congregations.
● Administrative support from a Benefice Administrator.
● A supportive community with many activities on offer.
● A modern four-bedroom property with a garage, in the heart of our county town, which is in close proximity to Taunton Minster and our Benefice Office.
This is a challenging, exciting and fulfilling role which offers many spiritual and professional rewards.
All applicants should normally have 3 years experience in the Church of England or another Anglican church in the British Isles.
All appointments are subject to acceptable pre-appointment checks, including a satisfactory Enhanced DBS with Barred Lists check
