Where every child belongs, every leader serves, and every generation becomes family.

For over 20 years, generations of children and leaders have experienced the unique atmosphere that makes Firewood Falcon what it is today.  

The story began in St Davids, Wales, (Treginnis 1) where children from Huntingdon, Westminster and Bristol travelled across the country to a camp held on a city farm overlooking the sea. It was a simple idea: to provide young people with a fun, safe environment where they could build friendships, explore the Christian faith and enjoy an unforgettable week away.  

As the camp grew, it moved to a private school in Swindon, making it more accessible to more children. It was here that the camp first became known as Firewood Falcon. The name was inspired by the location at the time, and although the venues have changed over the years, the spirit of Firewood Falcon has remained the same.  

From Swindon, the camp moved to a site near Dartford, before later relocating to Lincolnshire. After a number of successful years, the COVID pandemic brought an unexpected pause to camp life. Following those challenging years, Firewood Falcon was reborn at a residential activity centre in Norfolk, before spending two successful years at Repton House in Derbyshire. Today, Firewood Falcon has found a new home at Stanley Head, where a new generation of children are enjoying the same incredible experiences.  

Over the years, members have come and gone, locations have changed and the programme has evolved. Firewood Falcon started with the Gosling and Locke families, but over the years it has become much more than that. Generations of leaders, volunteers and campers have all played their part in making Firewood Falcon what it is today. Some of the children who once came to camp now return as leaders themselves, helping to give the next generation the same amazing experience they enjoyed.  

That's what makes Firewood Falcon special – it's not the venue, it's not the activities, it's the people and most importantly, it’s serving and loving God.   

From canoeing and outdoor adventures to creative activities, performances, games and time spent exploring faith together, every part of the week is built around creating a genuine family atmosphere where every child feels valued, encouraged and included.  

Generations have passed through Firewood Falcon, but one thing has never changed:
