Being a strategic Area/Rural Dean: Creating and Resourcing Meaningful Deanery Strategy

Date:
03/02/2026
Price:
£20.00
Location:
Online Training Event ,

The third session in a four part series for Area/Rural Deans.

The session explores how to build connection across parishes, shape a shared and meaningful story, and develop a collaborative strategy that grows from what churches are already doing well. The focus is not on a deanery strategy for its own sake but a strategy that strengthens parishes to flourish in Christian ministry.

The workshop is practical, interactive and provides practical actions to be taken in participants' contexts.

This afternoon workshop is limited to 24 spaces to allow good participation. These sessions stand alone so there is no requirement to have been to other sessions.

The facilitator is Rev Canon Simon Taylor, CPAS Leadership Enabler and former Area Dean of Godalming and author of 'Rural Deans for the 21st Century: A Mule, Servant and Spectacles: Connecting Places Across Boundaries'.

Area (Rural) Deans may wish to attend as an Archdeaconry group. Some dioceses may provide funding to attend the workshop.
