PATRONAGE DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
Patronage is central to the appointment of incumbents in the Church of England. CPAS has been involved in patronage for more than a century and has now become the largest patron in the Church of England with almost 700 patronages spread across every diocese. We have parishes in every context from rich to poor, city centre to deeply rural, very large to tiny congregations, single parishes to large multi-parish benefices and across market towns, seaside hotspots, multicultural communities and sprawling estates.
Patronage offers the huge privilege of serving parishes in collaboration with their diocese as they seek their next leader – by which Christ continues to renew his local church’s mission and ministry.
We live in a time of considerable change and uncertainty for our parishes and believe that God is particularly calling us as patron to engage with and support our benefices and clergy - offering practical resources, prayerful backup and wise counsel through vacancies and beyond.
We are looking to appoint two colleagues (full-time and part-time) to help us strengthen our core work, engage with national conversations and deepen our relationship with our patronage clergy and congregations.
In this high-profile role, you will be relating both to senior leaders within the dioceses and with clergy as they lead parishes and apply for new positions. You will need highly developed people skills and emotional intelligence, strong leadership wisdom and insight, and the ability to work meticulously with process and detail. You are likely to be a well thought out and articulate minister committed to orthodox evangelical theology but able to work well in the changing context of the Church of England. You will need to hold (or have held) a license to ordained ministry in the Church of England.

Salary: £46,305-£48,620 per annum.

CPAS is an evangelical Anglican mission agency, working to support churches across the UK and Republic of Ireland.
