Anglican evangelical mission agency CPAS is delighted to announce that the Rev James

Lawrence is taking on a new role of Leadership Champion at CPAS.

In his new role, James, currently team leader of the CPAS Leadership Development team, will be

increasing his focus upon thought leadership and content creation for the next phase of the

Church’s life. James has been at the forefront of much of the Church’s thinking and praxis around

leadership for many years. He is respected as a well-read and researched practitioner, known for

providing outstanding leadership resources, even before the Church knew that they were needed.

Under James’ leadership, the CPAS Leadership Development team connect with almost 10,000

Christian leaders annually through resources and training events. CPAS has changed James’

role in order to release more time for this vital ministry in the coming years.

Following James’ new appointment, the Rev Canon Jo McKee, Vicar of St Andrew Radcliffe in

Manchester Diocese and Director of the CPAS Arrow Leadership Programme since 2019, will be

taking on the new role of Head of Leadership Development, steering the Leadership

Development team through this next season at CPAS. Jo has demonstrated great ability in team

leadership and brings a wealth of joyful experience as a church leader, particularly in areas of

deprivation, and at CPAS. It is a delight to have more of Jo’s time and expertise as CPAS looks

to serve church leaders into the future. Jo will be starting her new position of Head of Leadership

Development on 30 October 2023.

The Rev Canon Jo McKee said: ‘It has been a privilege to be part of the CPAS Leadership

Development team over these past four years and I’m excited about working more closely with

the team and the wider CPAS organisation in this role. I’m also looking forward to seeing how

God will use the Leadership Development team for his mission and glory in this new season.’
