Lead On Live: Spiritual CEO or Pastor?

Many clergy now find themselves leading across multiple parishes, which is a reality that may or may not match what they first felt called to do. Where once they could inhabit the pastor-teacher role they trained for, the demands of administration and oversight can leave them feeling more like a ‘spiritual CEO’. For some that comes naturally, but for others it raises a pressing question: ‘how do I live out my ordained calling in this context?’. 

In this Lead On Live big conversation, we’ll draw together a few voices who have been thinking deeply about this topic. We’ll explore how authentic pastoral ministry can be exercised within leadership roles that have significant oversight responsibility. We’ll look at the challenges and opportunities of multi-parish ministry, the skills and practices that sustain it, and how to lead with theological conviction without burning out.
