Following the retirement of our Team Rector, we are at an exciting time of transition in our vibrant team of three churches in Great Baddow, Chelmsford.
Our churches are in different settings within Great Baddow, each with a slightly different flavour, all with an evangelical tradition seeking to build up a community faith that invites people to join in and serving our local communities in order that they might freely experience the love of Jesus.
We seek a new Team Rector who is excited by the opportunity to lead a strong team of clergy and lay leaders and to help us set a new vision for mission and discipleship. With two stipendiary Team Vicars (one shared with a neighbouring parish), retired clergy colleagues and a highly committed team of lay leadership, this role requires someone who is passionate for evangelism, discipleship and community service and who enjoys developing and drawing on the strengths of a diverse staff and volunteer team.
The Team Rector will oversee the whole ministry across the three churched but have particular responsibility for the community at St Mary’s church.
We would be delighted to welcome individuals who will:
- Love working with active and involved congregations
- Offer leadership founded in a strong faith in Jesus, a commitment to opening the scriptures and enabling the gifts of the Holy Spirit
- Prayerfully nurture our ministry team and churches to grow in our love for God and one another
- Lead us in setting a new, Christ-centred vision for prayer, discipleship and mission
What we offer you:
- Congregations and staff teams that love God and want to grow in faith and knowledge of the bible
- An enthusiastic team of ordained and lay ministers who are actively involved in ministry
- A readiness to support you in sustaining a healthy pattern of ministry and rest
