School Pathways

School-Church Partnerships: working together so that pupils can better explore and experience the Christian faith. CPAS wants to support every church to become a richer gospel resource for their local Church of England primary pupils, extending into community schools.
Why?
You have probably landed here because you are wrestling with how to help children develop spiritually…
- How can we support pupils to grapple with core theological concepts?
- With very few children growing up in church, but with theologically deep questions being asked at school, what does it look like for churches and schools to partner more deeply together?
- What is ‘spiritual development’ (school language) and is this the same as ‘Christian discipleship’ (church language) – if not, what are the differences and how should we navigate this?
- We have limited time and limited volunteers – what are going to be the best ways we can engage with pupils in our locality?
- We have few teachers who are confident with spiritual development but can the church be trusted to communicate appropriately in our multi-cultural context?
- Are there things people are doing that build connections beyond church and school with households, in order to support children with their spiritual searching?
If these questions resonate, CPAS can help.
